Terms of Sponsors
1. Purpose
The purpose of there terms and conditions is to make it clear that the information provided on the website of the event, in the event that Sponsor sponsors the PyCon Korea 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the "Event") held by the Python User Group (hereinafter referred to as "PyCon"), as well as the rights and obligations between the parties.
2. Application for Sponsorship and Payment
- Sponsor have to submit a sponsorship application through the event website and pay the sponsorship amount in a lump sum to the account established by PyCon within 14 days of receiveing notification of the approval of PyCon. However, if Sponsor has applied for an extension for a reasonable reason for extending the payment due date, PyCon can approve the application.
- Remaining accounts for that sponsorship level will be reduced on the date PyCon notifies Sponsor of approval. If Sponsor's application is canceled cause of passing the due date, the remaining account will be increased again.
- The final due date of payment is August 31th, 2020. It's same even if the extension request is approved.
3 PyCon's Obligations according to Sponsorship
PyCon's obligations to the sponsorship level based on the amount of sponsorship and to the Sponsors of each sponsorship level are listed on the event website. However, depending on the agreement between the parties, a special agreement may be used to enter into a sponsorship agreement that is not shown on the website.
4 Cancellation of Sponsorship Agreement and Partial Cancellation of Sponsorship Amount
Sponsor may pay PyCon a penalty for each of the following periods and terminate the Sponsorship Agreement and if they have already paid, PyCon will return the sponsorship excluding the penalty. However, if Sponsor cancel some of the sponsorship amount, the penalty fee will be applied to the amount requested for cancellation.
- Contract signing date - 90 days before the event date: 10% of sponsorship amount
- 89 days before the event date - 60 days before the event date: 20% of sponsorship amount
- 59 days before the event date - 30 days before the event date: 50% of sponsorship amount
- 29 days before the event date - 8 days before the event date: 80% of sponsorship amount
- 7 days before the event date - event date: 100% of sponsorship amount
5 Termiantion of Sponsorship Agreement for Violation of the Code of Conduct and Compensation
- Sponsor is obliged to strictly comply with the Code of Conduct (hereinafter referred to as the "CoC") published on the website.
- Sponsor is obliged to notify PyCon of any violation of the CoC prior to the application of the Sponsorship Agreement when applying under 2-1, and PyCon may refuse to enter into a Sponsorship Agreement on the grounds of violation of the CoC.
- If Sponsor has violated its obligations to comply with the CoC under 1 or has violated the Sponsor's notice obligations under 2, PyCon can promptly notify Sponsor and request correction.
- Sponsor must submit a statement to PyCon within 12 hours of being notified of the request under 3. However, if Sponsor requests an extension of face-to-face consultation for a reasonable reason for the extension, PyCon can approve the application.

PyCon may terminate the Sponsorship Agreement and notify Sponsor of any of
the following cases based on the Sponsor's statement, etc. submitted under
4. Sponsor will not be able to attend any events including booth operation
after the termination of the contract and will be required to pay PyCon for
penalties for the duration of 4.
- If Sponsor intentionally violates the obligation to notifty under 2
- If Sponsor does not submit the statement, opinion on the request for correction within the time limit of 3 or does not respond to the request for correction without justifiable reasons
- If the extent of Sponsor's violation of the CoC will seriously interfere with the operation of the PyCon and the event.
6 Delay of Event
If PyCon postpones the event (the deadline is until December 31, 2020), the contents of the sponsorship contract will be changed based on the date of the postponed event. In this case, the sponsor may cancel the sponsorship contract or cancel some of the sponsorship amount, but the penalty rate is applied by duration of 4 based on the date of the postponed event.
7. Cancellation of sponsorship contract due to cancellation
- If the event is canceled, the sponsorship contract will be terminated by notifying the sponsor of the event cancellation.
- If the event is cancelled, PyCon will return the total amount of the sponsorships already paid to the sponsor. However, the exception is when the event is canceled for the reasons of paragraph 3 or paragraph 4.
- If the event is canceled due to force majeure (such as the government's order to cancel the event), PyCon will return to the sponsor a portion of the sponsorship amount depending on when the event is canceled. However, if the reason is not considered as force majeure, paragraph 4 applies.
- Contract signing date - 90 days before the event date: 100% of sponsorship amount
- 89 days before the event date - 8 days before the event date: 90% of sponsorship amount
- 7 days before the event date - event date: 80% of sponsorship amount
- When a PyCon cancels the event due to a disaster situation (It is expected that the stage of warning of infectious diseases such as corona19 will remain severe until the event date, and it is considered that the event is difficult to proceed), PyCon will notify the sponsors Part of the sponsorship amount will be returned depending on when the favor event was canceled.
- Contract signing date - 90 days before the event date: 90% of sponsorship amount
- 89 days before the event date - 60 days before the event date: 80% of sponsorship amount
- 59 days before the event date - 30 days before the event date: 50% of sponsorship amount
- 29 days before the event date - 8 days before the event date: 20% of sponsorship amount
- 7 days before the event date - event date: The sponsored amount will not be returned.
- In the case of Paragraphs 2 to 4, all or part of the amount of the sponsorship that PyCon will return to the sponsor shall be compensated for damages pursuant to Article 398 of the Civil Code(Republic of Korea).
- PyCon sincerely discusses requests such as how to use the issues prepared for the event in addition to the contents of the sponsorship contract at the request of the sponsor.
8 Etc.
Matters not included in other terms and conditions may be settled in a special agreement by agreement of the parties.
9 Jurisdiction Court
In the event of a dispute beteween the parties regarding this agreement, it shall be resolved smoothly be mutual consultation. In case of proceedings, the Seoul Central District Court shall have jurisdiction.
